Glass Deck Railing — Guelph
Frameless tempered glass deck railing with low-profile clamp hardware for a lakeside home near Guelph.
The Project
For a lakeside deck, DSR Glass installed a frameless tempered glass railing system — preserving the view while meeting Ontario Building Code guard requirements. Panels were measured and cut to follow the deck line, mounted on low-profile clamps so nothing interrupts the sightline.
Scope of Work
- 12 mm clear tempered glass guard panels
- Low-profile deck-mount clamp hardware, through-bolted to the rim joist
- Panel layout engineered around existing posts and stair openings
- Exterior-rated gaskets and hardware for year-round exposure
- Final alignment, torque check, and cleanup

The Approach
Exterior glass guards have to stay rigid through wind, frost, and the knocks of daily use. Every clamp was through-bolted and torque-checked, and panel gaps were set to code-compliant spacing.
The panels were templated around the existing columns so the glass line runs clean from wall to stair — no awkward cut-downs, no visible fasteners.
