Interior Glass Railing — Cambridge

Frameless glass loft railing mounted on a steel beam in a timber-frame custom home in Cambridge.

Overview

The Project

In a timber-frame custom home, DSR Glass installed a frameless glass guard along the full length of the loft mezzanine — fascia-mounted to the steel carrying beam so the cathedral ceiling and woodwork stay the star of the room.

Scope of Work

  • Frameless tempered glass guard panels, full mezzanine run
  • Fascia-mount standoff hardware anchored to the steel beam
  • Panel-by-panel templating around posts and door openings
  • Code-compliant guard height and gap spacing
  • Coordination with the builder during active construction

How We Delivered

The Approach

Mounting glass to steel during an active build means working to the millimetre around other trades. Each panel was templated in place and set on adjustable standoffs for a perfectly level top line.

The fascia-mount detail keeps the floor edge clean and lets light pour from the loft windows through to the main floor below.
